So it’s been a while since I’ve posted here on the ole blog. Honestly, it’s been an extremely crazy time for my wife and I so the blog was one of the first to go for a while. But now we are starting to settle back down and have a more normal schedule.
I don’t know about you, but the first of the year always seems like a great time to start fresh. It’s a great place to take off the mask that the enemy tells us that we need to put on.
Many times the mask involve our insecurities. We aren’t pretty enough. Don’t make enough money. Our house isn’t as big as our friends or siblings. We aren’t, or our kids aren’t, the smartest people in the class. Maybe it’s you just don’t feel good enough.
When we hear these lies we put on a mask because we feel inadequate. We go into debt to try and keep up with our neighbors. We cover up who it is we really are. And sometimes, these mask get so thick that we don’t even remember who it is we are anymore.
The Lord spoke to us this week that it’s time. It’s time to let go of the lies and let truth pierce through the darkness of our lives. The Lord wants to speak truth into our lives – but we must let him. He wants us to take off the mask and be real wth each other. We don’t have to have it together.
Life is Messy. But God has put people in your life to not only help clean up the mess, but to help the healing process as well. God wants us – mess and all to engage with him and those around us.
So all that to say – Worship was great at The Bridge this week. I really believe he is starting some new in our church and it’s starting here. Engaging with him and each other. Here’s what we sang this week
