Book Review: For Men Only

I haven’t written a book review in a while because, well basically, I haven’t had a whole lot of time to. So now that I have some time, I figured I’d give it a go again.

This book, For Men Only: A Straightforward Guide to the Inner Lives of Women, was written by Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn. This book is the reader requested followup to For Women Only: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men that the couple had written a few years earlier.

For Men Only is a book written to hopefully help men understand their wives and girlfriends better. The Feldhahn’s write from the belief that men can actually understand women if they have the help to unlock the mysteries contained in the female mind.

Throughout this book the reader is introduced to ideas that will help men understand women such as; their need for security, how multitasked the female brain actually is, reasons behind the “unreasonable” reactions and more. We learn of hidden triggers that can lead to conflict and why women don’t seem to want as much sex as men.

While this is a great book, it is filled with a few redundancies. As a reader, I felt that the overarching theme is that men need to be observant of the insecurities of the women in their lives. These come out in just about every area of life and it’s our job to help encourage and walk her through them.

Overall, it’s a great book to read. Especially if you’ve never tried to understand the woman in your lie. It offers great insight, and if you let it, could help change the relationship you have with your wife.

I received this e-book for free to review from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishers. If you would like your own copy, I suggest getting it on Amazon here.
